It is the most significant object on the territory of the municipality and its combination with others may lead to creation of quality tourist product, which may be used of full value. Very interested in the point of view the cultural-cognitive and historical tourism are Kartalov's house in the town of Veliki Preslav, Svestarov's house in Osmar church, the both churches in the town of Veliki Preslav - „St. Peter and Pavel ” and „St. Archangel Michael”, the church “St. Kyril and Methodius” on the territory of the National archeological reservation, the rocky monasteries over the villages Osmar and Troitsa (there have been preserved the monks cells and the kirks, carved out in the rock where people lived during the period ÕII-ÕIV centuries.). Of course, very attractive from the tourist's point of view, are the rich cultural calendar, the traditional customs and the citizenry festivals, characterized this place, which may be combined with the above mentioned natural and anthropogenetic resources. Very perspective for the municipality is the “vine – degustation” tourism that by the tradition progresses successfully in the west countries. The prerequisite for that is the availability of the both wine cellars in the town of Veliki Preslav (there is situated a specialized enterprise for production of choice white wines and winy Brandy), as well in Osmar village (where are produced wines and another alcoholic beverages – Osmar's Pelin /Wormwood wine/.

The historical-archeological reservation is situated at 28 km northeast from the town of Shumen and at 2 km. from the contemporary town of Pliska . There is still a lack of meanses of support and developing the architectural memorials in the old capital town of Pliska .

Shumen Municipality. National historical-archeological reservation “Madara”. The richness of the discovered archaeological memorials, dated of IV millennium Before Christ Iv to XV century give reason to the explorers to call Madara "Bulgarian Troy". The most significant memorial in the reservation is the unique rocky relief Madara horseman. It is the only In Europe and it is a sample of the Old-Bulgarian art and symbolizes the might and the magnificence of the Bulgarian state. Madara horseman is declared by Unesco for a memorial with worldwide meaning. During the 14th century, in the rocks of the plateau, the biggest Bulgarian rock monastery was created with over 150 chambers. The sources for preservation the “Madara horseman” and the adjacent cultural-historical and natural environment are insufficient. The lack of museum in Madara village makes a real danger from wasting and losing of that invaluable cultural historic inheritance. It must be urgently taken measures for the conservation of “Madara” horseman and take the decision for its preservation as the world value. The building of culturally- information center in Madara village must be one of the priorities of the municipality.
